New Partnership Agreements Albania

At the German Embassy in Tirana, Albania, two agreements were signed in the presence of the German Ambassador, Karl Bergner. On the one hand, a partnership agreement was concluded with the new partner savings bank, Sparkasse Märkisches Sauerland Hemer Menden, and on the other hand, an agreement was signed with the local partner of the German Sparkassenstiftung, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB).

These agreements create a structured framework to support Albanian banks in adapting to the regulatory standards of the European Union and the supervisory requirements of the central bank.

New partner institution: Sparkasse Märkisches Sauerland Hemer‑Menden
We are delighted to welcome a new partner institution!

Member institutions of the German Sparkassenstiftung have the opportunity to become official partners for selected projects and thus assume a central role in international cooperation. As partner institutions, they make a significant contribution to the success of the projects by promoting staff exchanges, enabling the transfer of expertise, and supporting delegation visits. In addition, they serve as important role models: these institutions of Sparkassen‑Finance Group provide key impulses for local project partners and thus contribute to sustainable development on the ground.

Partner institutions such as Sparkasse Märkisches Sauerland Hemer‑Menden for Albania usually accompany the project from the initial phase through to successful completion and work closely with the German Sparkassenstiftung and the respective local partners throughout the entire project duration. A win‑win situation — as the partner savings bank also benefits from the international cooperation and the secondment of staff who gain the opportunity to look beyond the German horizon.
