Board of Trustees
German Sparkassenstiftung's Board of Trustees monitors the Management Board's activities and sets out guidelines for project work. The Board of Trustees is tasked, inter alia, with appointing the Management Board and its Chairperson and with approving the end-year financial statement and setting the budget. Chairperson of the Board of Trustees is the President of the German Savings Banks Association (Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband, DSGV).
Management Board
The Management Board is responsible for business operations and for the public image of German Sparkassenstiftung. Together with its appointed Managing Director, the Management Board reports to the Board of Trustees at regular meetings. Here it brings the Board of Trustees up to date with the foundation's work and the latest developments in the various projects.
One of the Management Board’s main tasks is managing the foundation's assets. This includes specifying how resources are to be spent and allocating specific volumes of funding to various fields of activity. Furthermore, it is incumbent on the Management Board to decide whether or not to accept new foundation members and recruit new staff members.
