Next stop: Essen. Photo exhibition “Development Money” still on the tramp

On 2 March 2015, the Sparkasse Essen (Essen Savings Bank) opened the doors of its headquarters in the city centre of Essen to present the exhibition “Development Money”.

42 pictures give lively impressions of the recipients of development money. The photographer Philipp Ruopp from Laichingen in Germany took them during his trip through Ghana, Laos and Vietnam in 2012, commissioned by the Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation (Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation). The photographs catch the flow of money in an undisguised form, thus giving exceptional insights into the world of microfinance. On his search for photo ideas, Ruopp was not only confronted with the personal fates of many people, but he also experienced the various cultural, religious and political circumstances in the different partner countries of Sparkassenstiftung.

“Development Money” can be visited at the main customer hall of Sparkasse Essen until 30 March 2015.
