The West Nile region is described as a marginalized area with a lack of access to public services. In addition, microentrepreneurs often lack basic business skills. Both hinder the sustainable establishment of entrepreneurial activity.

The project focuses on professionalizing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the sense of developing them into formalized, taxable businesses in Uganda. Special focus is given to women entrepreneurs as they form the majority of business owners in the region.

Tasks

  • Together with GIZ, participants are assessed and training needs are identified.
  • Based on this, the assignment to individual training groups and development of the training and coaching elements will take place.
  • Sparkassenstiftung's microenterprise business game is also used in this process.
