For the general situation of displaced persons (FDP) from Venezuela, see Project Colombia.
Although the Peruvian government has recently opened the possibility for migrants from Venezuela to regularize their residence status and officially participate in economic life, there is still a gap in the services available to migrants in Peru.
The task of the project is also in Peru to conduct a comprehensive market and context analysis of economic and financial inclusion opportunities for displaced persons (FDP). The goal of the study is to identify potential pathways for FDP to increase access to and use of formal financial services.
The target population is Venezuelan migrants and Peruvian returnees, with a focus on those with temporary or permanent residency and/or in a legalization and naturalization process according to national regulations. The project will also identify the needs of host communities and promote solutions that benefit both migrants and local vulnerable populations.
Tasks
- Conduct a market and context analysis of economic and financial inclusion opportunities for displaced persons (FDP) in Peru.
- Identify relevant stakeholders in the Peruvian financial sector and build business cases to support the creation and/or expansion of supply-side offerings for the target group.
