The agreement was signed by Ram Chandra Khanal, Chief Executive Officer of Kumari Bank Ltd., and Dr Ilonka Ruehle-Stern, Head of Division Asia at DSIK. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the cooperation is part of a regional programme that strengthens the institutional capacities of formal and informal financial organisations in rural regions.
The partnership focuses on developing a structured framework for embedding environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices as well as sustainable banking services at KBL. In doing so, the cooperation contributes to a green and climate-resilient economic future. At the same time, entrepreneurial skills and capacities for green growth are to be strengthened in rural communities as well as among small and medium-sized enterprises.
The cooperation demonstrates how financial institutions can support sustainable economic development and actively help shape the transition towards a greener and more resilient future.
