First World Savings Day in Kyrgyzstan proved to be a huge success

For the first time ever, the World Savings Day was celebrated in Kyrgyzstan. Together with the Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation (Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation) the National Bank of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan (NBKR) has introduced the World Savings Day in this landlocked Central Asian country.

Already several weeks prior to the official date of the World Savings Day, the participating local banking institutions started to promote special actions with the aim to raise the population’s financial literacy and organised special programmes, actions and information events for their regular customers and customers-to-be. Lottery games and competitions for children, visits to branches for young people, lectures for adults by high-level banking representatives and many other events were organised around the topic of savings. All these exciting events finally culminated in celebrating the World Savings Day on 30 October 2015, which also marked the end of this special savings week.
