Entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova, particularly SMEs and early-stage businesses, face significant challenges in accessing financial services and developing the necessary skills for sustainable growth. Despite the existence of financing opportunities many entrepreneurs struggle to meet eligibility criteria due to a lack of financial literacy and business planning skills. Another key problem is the limited access to structured and practical financial education, which prevents entrepreneurs from effectively managing their finances, making informed investment decisions, and leveraging available funding opportunities.
The overall objective of the project is to enhance the Financial Literacy and business management skills of SMEs in Moldova through targeted educational activities, thereby indirectly facilitating their ability to access funds. This support ensures their suitability for evaluation by financial institutions, strengthens their economic sustainability, and enhances their ability to create jobs.
Tasks
To achieve these objectives, the following measures, in particular, will be implemented:
- Development and adaptation of effective training tools to impart business management knowledge to SMEs, with a particular focus on access to funding
- Strengthening the capacity of up to 15 in-house trainers and consultants from ODA and/or regional ODA centers to offer comprehensive financial and business management training for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs)
- Providing training materials (including case studies, templates, and self-study tools) via the digital ODA platform
