The aim of the project was to support the microfinance institution Horizonti in northern Macedonia, which primarily provides financial services to micro-enterprises and small farmers in rural areas. Horizonti's range of services includes the granting of housing loans as well as loans specifically geared to the needs of Roma families and small farmers. The project supported Horizonti in the sustainable expansion of its lending business in rural regions and in the management of the associated risks. Based on a comprehensive analysis, a new business strategy was developed together with Horizonti. Training and coaching measures enable Horizonti to implement this new business strategy.
The project was successfully completed in 2013 and jointly financed by the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) and the project partner.
