“DevelopmentMoney” on tour: Photo exhibition now shown at Sparkasse Allgäu

For some months now, the photo exhibition “DevelopmentMoney” has been touring through Germany. Its formal opening at the Sonthofen-branch of Sparkasse Allgäu has been a great success.

On 26 May the Sparkasse Allgäu together with the Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation (Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation) formally opened the exhibition “DevelopmentMoney”.

The art photo documentation with unique impressions from Ghana, Laos and Vietnam offers a different view of Sparkassenstiftung’s diverse project work. During his one-month photo trip through three countries and two continents, the photographer Philip Ruopp collected sensational impressions on site in an artful and documentary way – and always in direct and very close contact to the people.

42 selected photographs portray the everyday life of the recipients of “development money”. They catch the money influx in an undisguised form and illustrate exceptional landscapes – far away from the normal perspective of holiday pictures.

Being one of Sparkassenstiftung’s partner savings banks, the Sparkasse Allgäu is actively involved in development projects. At regular intervals, Sparkasse Allgäu seconds its staff to Nepal to support Sparkassenstiftung’s cooperation project in the Himalayan region focusing on the financial education of Nepal’s population.

The exhibition can be visited at the Sonthofen-branch of Sparkasse Allgäu until 13 June 2014.
