The aim of the project is the economic integration of returnees and potential migrants in Ghana and Gambia. In both countries, dependent employment is the exception. Therefore, the project activities focus on providing basic financial and business education as well as coaching measures to enable the target group to draw up appropriate business plans, to support them in opening a business or consolidating their existence and to facilitate access to financial services.
The project aims to contribute to the creation of more employment. This includes the promotion of entrepreneurial activities and expanded micro-enterprises in host communities to create job opportunities for returnees and marginalized members of the local host population.
Project Tasks:
- Low-threshold Business Games (Microbusiness Game, Farmers Business Game, Savings Game) are established. In The Gambia, a pool of trainers will also be provided through additional trainings of trainers.
- The business coaching program is introduced.
- Design and implementation of employability training in The Gambia.
- Business start-up loans and start-up grants are implemented in Ghana and Gambia through selection of financial service providers and setting of product specifications.
