At Sparkasse Essen, the foreign guests were informed in detail about the model of the German Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, and the advantages of the existing partnership project for the daily work was discussed. In addition, employees of Sparkasse Essen presented the possibilities of education and further training to the delegation members. "Up to now, this combination of theory and practical work, which is given through the education and further training courses at German savings banks, is still missing in the vocational bank training in Vietnam and Laos", one of the participants stated.
During the visiting programme in Essen, the delegation members were also introduced to cooperation projects between Sparkasse Essen and other local enterprises and schools. Participants discussed in how far such cooperation could also be established in Laos and Vietnam in a customised form to provide broad segments of the population with banking services. At the end of the information visit, delegation members returned to their home countries with a lot of information and impressions to think about and many new ideas of how to implement the knowledge and insights gained into their daily work and adapted to their special needs.
Sparkassenstiftung’s activities in Laos and Vietnam are part of the <prlink id="213">regional project Indochina and Myanmar</prlink>, which also includes the countries Laos and Vietnam.
