Nadine Brunner: From Sparkasse Hochrhein to Mexico

Nadine Brunner started her Sparkassen career in 2014 at Sparkasse Hochrhein. She joined our Mexico office in 2019 and supports the regional project for Central and South America with her Sparkassen expertise.

1. In which institution of the Sparkassen Finance Group did you start your career and what brought you to the Sparkasse?

I started my vocational training as a financial assistant at Sparkasse Hochrhein in 2012. Even back then, I was enthusiastic about the personal connection to people and the regional idea of the Sparkassen.

2. How long did you work for this institution? Please describe your Sparkassen-career briefly.

After the end of my training in 2014, I was taken on as a permanent employee and worked in the Customer Service Center until 2017. After that, I moved to the Marketing and Strategic Planning department, focusing on customer acquisition and online banking.

3. When did you start your career at German Sparkassenstiftung and what motivated you to work in international cooperation?

My career at DSIK (Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation) started in January 2019. After completing my training I was already working part-time at the Sparkasse to be able to volunteer, so the idea of helping other people has always been very important to me. When the opportunity to move to Mexico came up in my personal life, I was made aware of DSIK by a colleague. The idea of actively helping people with my skills and really being able to see how the lives of individuals are improved through Sparkassen knowledge inspires me time and again. To be able to provide international support and to do so officially as a “Sparkässlerin” makes me really proud.

4. What valuable experience have you taken with you from your work at Sparkassen Finance Group to your project region?

When I worked at the customer service center, I learned how important it is to be calm, empathetic, and compassionate. Behind every person is their own story, so behind every problem is an individual story. It's about respecting people, understanding them and looking for a practical solution.
