On 25 June 2015, the Chairman of the Nantong Rural Commercial Bank, SHE Jun, and the Deputy Managing Director of Sparkassenstiftung, Ferdinand Feldgen, signed a project agreement to set up the lending business for small enterprises of Nantong Rural Commercial Bank.

This is the first project Sparkassenstiftung is carrying out with a Chinese Rural Commercial Bank and the first project ever in the province of Jiangsu. Since 2010, the Sparkassenstiftung has been engaged in similar projects with various City Commercial Banks in seven different locations in China. The project in Nantong will be launched in the third quarter of 2015.

With the help of Sparkassenstiftung, it is planned to set up a new department for small-scale lending within the rural bank and to develop and introduce financial products in line with the market. In addition to that, some 60 junior staff will be hired and trained. All these project measure will contribute to providing needs-oriented offers to small enterprises in this rural bank’s area of operation.

Nantong is about 1.5 hours away from Shanghai. The Rural Commercial Bank has its headquarters in the city of Nantong and operates various branch offices in rural areas.
