Global access to financial services
The Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation actively supports financial institutions that sustainably promote economic and social development at local, regional, or national level through needs-based banking operations. It has set itself the goal of enhancing the professionalism of its partner institutions so that they can offer their clients sustainable, long-term access to financial services. MSMEs in particular: micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, but also marginalized social groups, are the target groups of Sparkassenstiftung's partner institutions. The partner institutions themselves benefit from the fact that the business strategy is geared to MSMEs and people on low incomes: Serving these customer segments allows for sustainable, stable, and satisfactory profits.
By strengthening local and regional financial structures, Sparkassenstiftung not only creates development alternatives for broad sections of the population and local businesses, but ultimately also helps to generate jobs and income. This is in line with the approach and objectives of German Sparkassen, has a stabilizing effect on the respective financial sector and thus on a country's economic development.
The 200-year history of Germany's Sparkassen shows that sustainable financial services are only possible with efficient organization and professionalism - Sparkassenstiftung passes on these key success factors to its partners in its projects.
