Anja Deinzer: From Board Member to Regional Coordinator in Albania
1. In which institution of the Sparkassen Finance Group did you start your career and what brought you to the Sparkasse?
I started as a trainee at Kreissparkasse Bautzen. Right after graduation and inspired by an event at the University of Giessen, I applied in response to an ad from the East German Sparkassen Association (OSV).
2. How long did you work for this institution? Please describe your Sparkassen-career briefly.
My career in brief: 6 years at Kreissparkasse Bautzen, 8 years at Sparkasse Hemer, where I was a deputy to the Board of Management. Then 5 years at Stadtsparkasse Schmallenberg as a member of the Board of Management, focusing on sales and bank management.
3. When did you start your career at German Sparkassenstiftung and what motivated you to work in international cooperation?
I started working for German Sparkassenstiftung in 2014. I am motivated by my conviction that the founding idea of the Sparkassen – banking from the region for the region – is still valid and continues to provide a lot of benefit in many countries around the world in the 21st century - especially against the backdrop of sustainable business.
4. What valuable experience have you taken with you from your work at Sparkassen Finance Group to your project region?
On the one hand, the integral Sparkassen concept "for the people in the region" - a formative influence both internally and externally. On the other hand, the high level of expertise that the Sparkassen organization offers its employees, the reservoir of knowledge and resources that German Sparkassenstiftung can harness and, last but not least, the wealth of personal experience, including the assertiveness typical of Sparkassen, which is also very helpful from time to time.
