Project description

The initial phase of the partnership project with Tojik Sodirot Bank (TSB), which is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), will end on November 30, 2011. TSB is a private universal bank with more than 20,000 customers, 76 % of which are private customers, 17 % are micro entrepreneurs and 7 % are corporate customers. Serving small and micro enterprises, TSB has tapped a highly important customer group in terms of development policy. The German savings banks – Saalesparkasse Halle and Kreissparkasse Anhalt-Bitterfeld – are partnering the project and will support TSB’s transition process to market economy.

With 14 branches and 800 employees, TSB is operating in urban and rural regions. TSB has a balance sheet total of more than EUR 80 million. To develop a strategy together with TSB for savings mobilisation throughout the country as long-term refinancing basis, to gradually introduce nationwide lending to MSME, to define adequate credit products including their internal handling procedures, to train the staff and finally to launch lending processes in first pilot branches are the core focuses of the initial project phase.
