Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees supervises the activities of the Board of Management and decides on the guidelines governing Sparkassenstiftung’s project work. Among others, the Board of Trustees is responsible for appointing the Board of Management and its Chairman, approving of year-end statements and drawing up the draft budget. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees is the President of the Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband (German Savings Banks Association). 

Board of Management

The Board of Management is responsible for managing Sparkassenstiftung’s operations and its representation to third parties. In regular meetings, the Board of Management together with the Managing Director appointed by it, give report to the Board of Trustees about Sparkassenstiftung’s current project work and the progress of the single projects.

Managing Sparkassenstiftung’s assets and determining the use and allocation of Sparkassenstiftung’s resources according to the different scope of tasks belong to the main tasks of the Board of Management. In addition, the Board of Management decides on the admission of new members and the hiring of personnel.
