Restructuring of PostBank Uganda Ltd.

概述

Project goal is to enable PostBank Uganda to provide accessible and affordable financial services on a permanent and viable basis to its target groups, the lower and medium income groups, particularly in rural areas.

Broad assistance is rendered to PBU in all areas of managing and conducting bank business, institutional positioning of the bank, leading to its separation from Uganda Post Ltd. and transformation from a former department of Uganda Post Ltd. into an independent and licensed bank under supervision of the Bank of Uganda.

Within the scope of the project, a money transfer product, policies of costing, financial accounting including reporting and balancing have been introduced and the bank’s full compliance with supervisory requirements is under way. Furthermore, intense advice is rendered by long-term and short-term experts in areas of finance, operations, IT and marketing.

• Overall support to legal separation from post office system
• Implementation of an improved IT system, introduction of new work flows / procedures / control systems enhancing overall efficiency
• Preparation of integration of all branches into IT network
• Design an implementation of MIS and reporting
• Implementation of accounting system / support to treasury
• Systematic development of human resources (training off and on the job, incentive-based remuneration systems)
