概述

Together with the savings banks association of the federal German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, i.e. the Sparkassenverband Rheinland-Pfalz, Sparkassenstiftung advises two central institutions in the Rwandan microfinance sector within the scope of this partnership project. The National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) and the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda (AMIR) are supported with the aim to improve the professionalism of Rwandan microfinance institutions (MFI).

The National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) supervises all institutions operating in the microfinance sector. Sparkassenstiftung helps BNR to find better ways to improve its supervisory function and advance the development of future operations, such as the creation of deposit guarantee systems or measures to enhance financial literacy.

Sparkassenstiftung supports the Association of Microfinance Institutions (AMIR) in enhancing the range of products offered to its MFI members. The core focus of consultancy lies on imparting know-how to the member-MFI, as AMIR is well aware of their needs and is thus able to bundle them. The central aim is to improve the mobilisation of savings in Rwanda.
